Hello everyone,

We’re pleased to announce that we have released a new version of Avast Secure Browser (ASB) - version 87.0 to some users. This version will be roll out to all our customers over the next few weeks.

Changes

  • (NEW) Taskbar pinning via ‘more tools’ - you can pin your favorite sites to the windows taskbar for quick access.

Fixes

  • Improved overall stability of the browser
  • Improved compatibility for importing data from your previous browser
  • Improved stability and speed of Avast Sync
  • Other Chromium 87 fixes

How to get this latest version
If you have ASB already installed, it should be updated automatically (feel free to visit ‘secure://settings/help’ to trigger an update faster)
Alternatively, you can download and install ASB from our official site:
https://beta-download.avastbrowser.com/external/avast_secure_browser_setup.exe

Cannot access Version 87. Keeps applying Version 86.1.6938.199 (Official Build) (beta) (64-bit)

I have the same problem.Where in the settings can I find help’ to trigger an update faster? I don’t see it anywhere.

latest beta 87 still not available and AB now hangs up on every tab.

Hi, 87.0 is no beta. The latest beta is 87.1, see: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=243413.0

downloaded again and ran the setup which advised completed but AB still says it is the 86 version.

Hi pbriscall,

please post here Diagnostic Information from secure://settings/help page and from what version you trying to update. Have you tried to uninstall current version and then install current beta version?

Please note, beta testing isn’t meant for everyone. The user is having a problem updating to the current latest regular release. Thanks.

I did not use the removal tool. It has finally worked. no explanation why on my system.

Hello,

I am having the exact same issue. I was on Version 87 earlier today, but it was lagging and on some websites when trying to log on, it kept coming up on the websites as technical errors. (When I went to the regular Chrome Browser, it let me log on.)

Anyway, I used the Avast Secure Browser Uninstall Tool to uninstall the Avast Secure Browser and then I reinstalled it, but now I am getting version Version 86.1.6938.199 (Official Build) (64-bit). I go to settings and about to check the version and it says its up to date, with Version Version 86.1.6938.199 (Official Build) (64-bit).

How can I get version 87 which I had just earlier today before uninstalling?

after update bank mode dont start , says update virus settings

Regarding your comments about getting the old version 86.1 after installation, we’ve encountered an issue with the installation of version 87.0 and we are intensively working on a fix. In the meantime, all new installs will receive 86.1, any existing users will automatically be updated to 87.0 or later. If you have installed 86.1, you should get the update to 87.0 or 87.1 within a few days. Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience. We are happy you are with us!
