Regarding the security vulnerabilities fixed, please don’t worry they aren’t critical. However, we are working on delivering it as soon as possible.
Thank you for your patience.
I tried downloading from your link and also link in first post.
I ended up with same version number, but now says official build Beta.
But when in stalling says installing version 91.0, but once I check has reverted back to old version.
Tried to send a screen shot but couldn’t see where to. Maybe because I don’t have enough posts yet.
This is what version I have when I check( Help and About Avast Secure Browser) 90.1.9508.213( Official Build ) ( Beta) (64bit). Also says I am up to date, with latest version.
The Video Downloader quit working on YouTube a week or more ago but continued to work on Facebook. I followed the directions to do a “clean reinstall” but the Downloader extension disappeared and was no longer on the extension page with the others. So I did another “clean reinstall” but the result was the same. The Video Downloader extension is no longer on the extension page with the others. How do I get the Video Downloader extension to return? The second reinstall was the NEW 91.0 version. Thanks.
Here’s the latest that I was told by Avast regarding this topic.
“Hey Bob, good news - we’ll get the VD working for the users that have it in following 2-3 days,
but unfortunately nothing new for the re-enabling the VD for everyone again.”
(VD = Video downloader)
My Avast browser won’t open (8:00am MST 6/9/2021). I’ve rebooted the computer, uninstalled it, downloaded it again and reinstalled it. I ran a virus check. The screen flashes for a second and nothing happens.
I’m on an Asus desktop PC, Windows 10 Home, Version 2004, OS build 19041.985. It was fine 2 days ago.
Maybe it’s time for a clean install of the Secure Browser
Download the installer from here, https://www.avast.com/en-us/secure-browser
Download the Secure Browser Removal tool from here, https://download.avastbrowser.com/avast_secure_browser_uninstall.exe
Save your Bookmarks via the Book Marks Manager if you have custom bookmarks so you can import them when you re-install.
Uninstall Secure Browser via Programs and Features - Reboot
Run the removal tool, reboot, run the installer import your favorites if you saved them.
A video to help with the installation: https://youtu.be/r_VLA0HMLQM
Report back if that’s solved the problem or not.
Avast has offered a separate tool to totally remove the Secure Browser if the above instructions don’t work.
You can find that tool here, https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=230288.msg1531315#msg1531315
I don’t know if anyone else is experiencing this, but for some reason when I often use Avast! Secure Browser, there’s a possible bug that causes mouse lag, and thus makes the computer a bit unresponsive. I thought it was all because of UBlock, but I removed it last night; and when I used it again, I experienced the same problem. (I’m tempted to say that “Avast! Secure Browser” is the same as “Google Chrome”, so there is a chance that whatever bug might be happening on Chrome is applying to here.) For anyone’s convenience, I’m using Windows 10 when using my browser.
There’s no mouse lag on this end in either Chrome or the Avast Secure Browser.
What kind of mouse? Does it have batteries?

It’s a Logitech mouse. But I guess I should’ve worded it better: I don’t think it’s so much “mouse lag” as it is a bug that causes the computer to freeze up whenever I’m using Avast! Secure Browser. That’s probably what I should’ve specified.

Then I suggest that you start your own topic and describe your problem in detail.
