New discover for speeding up scan!

I’ve downloaded free Pc Checkup and I have defrag my hard disk with it!My system and scan is working more quickly now!But why does the software which defrag my pc in accessories doesn’t speed up my pc?

I can see two scenarios:

  1. Built-in Windows defrag isn’t as intense as 3rd party ones.
  2. Just a sensation of speed increase and not a real speed gain.

First it analyse
Then I think it free space
I don’t know then
the fifth one is defrag
and the six is optimise!

Defragmenting files as often as possible is a great way of maintaining the PC’s performance^^

Smart Defrag is my choice anyway^^

I use Auslogics BoostSpeed 4 http://www.auslogics.com/en/software/boost-speed to defragment hard driver and registry, to cleanup hard drive and fix registry problem, to tweak windows and and and…

I’ve used many program to do these and this one is best well program software that I’ve ever used. but it’s not freeware

I use defraggler and ccleaner.

deraggler as soon as i install something

and ccleaner every now and then.

hmmm…

coulda also use Auslogics defragmenter…

Some of the best ways to speed up a scan without having to upgrade any hardware is by:

(1) As stated above, defragging.

(2) Clearing all temporary files. This will reduce the number of files to scan.

Yeah you are entirely right but if I clean all the errors will the scan be quicker?

may I add some too?!!

  1. Disabling those windows services which is not needed (there are a lot of!)

  2. choose stand-alone program instead of programs which has alot of background services.

  3. use less programs in windows startup. run programs manually after windows boot time.

  4. use latest version of updates hardware drivers.

  5. keep computer/laptop bios up to date.

  6. use cheap things to speed computer. for example windows readyboost is one of them that works with normal flash drives.

  7. use tiny program when there are instead of using heavy program in computer.

and a lot of other…

sometimes it can help, but you should review every key that you are removing, because sometimes they cause problem more than what they fix.

And yes, a whole lot more. You love typing huh? I am jealous with your typing speed. ;D

“Errors” you mean? Well for sure cleaning them would help, errors are bottlenecks.

Windows Disk Check Utility can help eliminate / correct some errors in your PC.

Yes, I love it, I type in computer more than speaking in real world!!

and I think he mean fix errors in registry, “invalid keys in registry”

Yeah but I heard that if some entries are also deleted your computer will have great trouble!

Registry eh…U can try Glary Utilities^^

It has lots of useful gadgets such as a cleaner, registry defraggler, and cleaner…and muc much more^^(only more or less 5MB)^^

it’s why I say you SHOULD take care what you are doing during clean up and fixing registry keys.
always have a backup from your registry before doing anything to your registry. don’t use un-trusted programs to clean up it. defragment/compact it!

CCLeaner has a good registry optimizer. Light & fast.

What I can’t recommend is IObit’s Advanced System Care’s Registry Scanner, modifies entries that are pretty sensitive.

The Windows defrag isn’t that bad actually, having defragged with windows, check with some other defrag tools and you won’t find any fragments. I also have Power Defragmenter, DeFraggler and JKDefrag.

These confirm the windows defrag does what it says on the tin, whilst the last two have many more bells and whistles and options selective defragmenting, moving files to optimise their loading, leaving some space at the start of a partition, etc. etc. All of these are fine, but over an above a simple defrag which windows defrag does fine.

I have once tried Windows defragmenter… It seems to take much more time…

Defragmenters other than windows defragmenters generally defragment only the fragmented files but windows defragmenter not only defragements the files but also put the files continuously in the sense no free spaces between files so it takes much time.

so, windows defragmenter does its job better?
