I am a Avast free user! I want to make a new feature request for all avast programs. When you go to the maintenance option you get two tabs one to update engine and virus definitions and the other tab is update program. Rather than having two tabs why not make into one tab to update engine,virus definitions, and the program.

Take for example AVG Free Edition it has only one update tab to install program updates (if it has) and everyday malware definitions.

A program update generally requires a reboot of the computer - which some users might not want under specific circumstances. That’s why there are two options.

Also, definition/engine updates are (with extremely rare exceptions) much smaller than program updates. That’s why the default update settings, and most users’ preference, are auto for defs and notify-only for the program.
