Well sometimes you see this word spelled as bot herder (not that I bother there), sometimes with hyphen as bot-herder, see: http://www.wordspy.com/words/botherder.asp
I am 59 now, and as a trained teacher these things were once important, nowadays a lot of people, teachers included, spell according to the spellchecker in Word or the browser or this forum, and furthermore spell on a Kindergarten level. In my days to pass your exams, and to make sure you learned the spelling rules by heart, they gave you double negative markings, so 10 errors were counted as 20 in total, so making sure you would do bootcamp, else you would not qualify to go any further. Where have those days gone? Now qualified teachers (young ones) are taken from the class room, because they cannot spell correctly.
