Kerio Personal Firewall is favourite personal firewall for many users. The graphical interface and user features are simply perfect. The sad fact is that from the view of its security desing Kerio is just a cute packet filter and not a personal firewall as its vendor (and its name) claims. It is more like 'A Hacker's Best Friend'. We can hardly imagine a personal firewall with worse level of security.
We do not think there might be a worse personal firewall from the security point of view than Kerio Personal Firewall 4.3.246. We strongly recommend all its users to change the personal firewall.
but also ZA results comments are harsh
However, its security is very poor and we do not recommend ZoneAlarm Pro for any serious use.
Our conclusion is that the level of security protection offered by ZoneAlarm Pro is insufficient for any kind of utilization.
fast sum up , 15 serious bugs in S-KPF + tons of design flaws , 30+ serious bugs in ZA Pro , 20+ serious bugs in Norton PF + dozen small ones …
FLT is different approach , that’s test based on known methods / tools …
not exposing anything except usual design flaws , incorrect settings or rarely bugs …
I am sorry to cause such an upset to you but it was not intentional as I don’t mean not to respect any intellectual property rights and expose you to any unnecessary risks. Honestly, I am not rich as I have been out of job for several years. Moreover, I don’t even have any credit cards to purchase online, even though, I would very much like to buy the product online like you guys. :‘( Frankly speaking, who would not want to get the actual original product, with all the supports from the respective company if only I have such a means? But I really don’t have such a means. :’( If I have the means, I will be using the Avast Antivirus Pro version or any others better Antivirus softwares instead of the free Home Avast Antivirus version. So you can see, it is not that I don’t respect intellectual property right, otherwise, I will be using some cracked Avast Pro version and not this free Home Avast version instead and from this you can see that I don’t have the means to purchase the original version of any products at the moment.
In fact, I am very thankful that of all the Antivirus softwares companies in the market, Avast is willing to even provide free products and services to the public which is very rare now in today world and I will not hold back in complimenting Avast on such generosity.
FreewheelinFrank, you said that there are free version of Kerio Firewall available, can you recommend me to its website please? Please do not recommend me to its trial version as it will expire in a matter of time.
Once again, I am sorry to cause such an upset to you.

P.S. - Since Avast can provide free Home Antivirus version, why can’t they incorporate the Firewall feature in its Antivirus Engine too? I believe it will definitely benefit alots of its users, including me too, without the hassle of resorting to other firewalls, and surely it will gain the utmost support from all its users too.
The free version is the same download as at the top of the page.
The full version becomes the free version after 30 days. You don’t lose any firewall features, only web filtering and HIPS.
There’s really no real need for the home user to pay for the full version of Kerio: if you really feel you want the features of the full version, you can find other free utilities to do the same jobs, and anyway, I always found that the extra features caused more BSOD’s when enabled.
I have decided to use Comodo Firewall instead of Kerio Firewall.
Anyway, I really want to thank you guys for your assistance here in putting up your postings. Tech, if I have any doubts regarding Comodo Firewall, I hope you can help me up with it. Will you?

P.S. - Does anyone use “Spyware Terminator” in their PC, together with Avast Home Antivirus? Is “Spyware Terminator” a fake or genuine Antispyware application? I have used it on my PC and find that it takes quite a while before I loaded up my IE browser. Does anyone experienced the same problem like me too?
It is perfectly possible to have the complete windows system running with free open source based software or other free software. see here: http://www.searchlores.org/bangla.htm
If you loose web filtering and HIPS. you can add that through other free solutions (sandboxie for instance).
There are free personal versions of HIPS programs, and web filtering can also be done from inside a browser or proxy-wise.
So if you know what cocktail to brew you can also run a windows environment with a small purse in mind. And old systems have non-official upgrade packs to make their life-time longer. Or be wise and secure and make the switch to Ubuntu once and for all: http://www.searchlores.org/linux.htm
This switch could mean a dramatic decrease of malware, no more re-installs and more system-stability. The reason people hesitate from doing so is that they use Windows on the workfloor, their next of kin use it, they have been grown up with the Windhose formula, and fear abstention or they think installing linux on a computer is for the technically advanced. These are things from the past now. There is even protection from avast on linux.
