New Laptop

Just got a new Toshiba Laptop with W 7 and 64 bit. Does Avast support 64 bit? I have used Avast on my desktop WXP for years.

Did your new laptop come with any pre-installed security software (many come with an AV trial period installed) ?

If so what was/is it ?
It is essential to uninstall this (and possibly other actions) before installing avast, so that there is no conflict.

Yes it does. It has Norton Suite. and that is the first thing to go. I will use the uninstall tool. I removed Norton from this WXP PC when I got it.

Going to the store and get some DVD’s.

Yes absolutely essential Norton can be harder to remove than some viruses at times ;D
