When I open Avast, the new menu will only alow me to upgrade, can not run any kind of scans

Repair Avast:
Control Panel> Program and Features (Add/remove program)>Select Avast> Select Repair. Reboot when completed

First thank you for the quick reply,one of the more helpful forums on the net, I did as directed ( control apnael repair) and still cannot find standard full scan, only custom and smart scan,performed smart scan and as usual was prompted to purchase an upgrade, is the full scan not availbe any longer ? I understand Avast needs to make money,but I’m retied on a fixed income,it’s advertised as a free service for the basic plan, I have been using this for years and very pleased with the product

The full scan is still available, but it is rather under the hood.

AvastUI > Protection > Antivirus > Full system scan - it also has a link to Other Scans

You’re welcome.

No, this UI isn’t the most intuitive that I have come across. It just takes a little to get used to it.
