New PC Build Protection

Hello everyone. I’m building a new computer and want to know if there is a way, or does Avast have a way, to put Avast Home on disc so I can install it before connecting the new unprotected computer to the net.

Thanks for your help.

You can download avast! to a usb key & load it onto your new computer from there.

Download avast! here.

Hi Mickey Way, welcome to the forum.
Absolutely, and a good idea.
Just download the installer file from here http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html to a disk, or a flash drive works just as well, and you’re all go.
Can do same for any other security software you want to install, plus, I believe, any service packs relevant to your installation.
Once the AV is installed, you’ll then need to connect to the net on the new computer to update it.

Make sure the Windows firewall is active and as was said before put avast on a Flash drive then install it then connect to the Internet and download the latest definition updates.

That’s what I did but I never visited any other site until all Windows SP3 updates were installed as well.

WOW!!! Fast replies! Thanks to all for the info!
