we have just released a new pre-released build of avast, version number 5.1.884. This build is supposed to solve the remaining issues that were not fixed by the previous pre-release version 5.1.874.
We expect this to be a very short beta test before the update is finally pushed out to everyone (maybe less than 24 hours).
So, if you’re having any kind of issues with the current release build 5.1.864 or 5.1.874, we recommend trying this one – hopefully, it will solve your problem.
Fixes, compared to the previous pre-release build 5.1.874, include:
solved a compatibility problem with CorelDraw X5
solved a problem inserting a license file in the installation wizard
I have a doubt. once i install this version, when i do manual program update (in future), will i be updated to BETA or STABLE version of avast available at that point of time ?? if i want to update only to stable versions wat should i do?
Logos, please be more specific… does it mean behav shield show you 0/0 (in scanned/blocked)? Sometimes it takes some time than it receive events suitable for scanning.
Ho-chi-minh: All BETAs are updated to final public version automatically when it’s available. You will be also notified by GUI there’s a new final version so you won’t miss it.
no it’s not that but I started a thread recently where I mentioned several issues, including Windows firewall becoming unable to remain turned on (was turning off after each reboot) + “homegroup” being partially broken and no way to repair it. I had to re-install Windows (as my latest backup had the same issues). Can’t tell if the behavior shield was responsible at all, but such things never happen with 5.0.
edit:to be honest I also gave a shot to two other security suites (just short tests) so I have no idea what made shit happen, if it’s Avast or not. AIS firewall being turned on and homegroup computers being still accessible through the network folder, it took a few days until I realized that things were broken.
This update frequency soon it! Hope this year to the 6.0 version and a qualitative improvement, as there is only mere signature AVAST protection, hope and inspiration to raise the level of protective behavior look.
Thank you for your hard work!
I wish you the forum, friends from different countries, all the best!
I encountered a boot time scan issue last night with .874. Got a disc full error and was unable to complete the scan. When attempting to “ignore” the file, it just went into and endless loop of trying to send the file to the chest. Ended up exiting out of the scan.
This was after a complete removal, including the uninstaller, and clean install. I’ll try the new beta tonight.
By the way, it’s the Behavior Shield that is causing my game to crash. I installed the Behavior Shield on 5.1.874, and all is well. Let me test this with the Behavior Shield on.
