Any one noticed this new tab Market ?It is having options like backup ur data ,restore crashed PC,secure your passwords.
Actually avast integrated thier additonal premium features like Avast back up ,Rescue Disc and Easy pass to the intefaces of Internet security and Pro editions.
It’s advertisement.

Out of curiosity, I just upgraded via UI from last ver (1289) to 1367 (FREE) but don’t see any MARKET tab? I’m concerned that the update didn’t work right since I don’t see it. Where would it be? (is it present in the FREE version?)
I do not see it in my FREE version.
You must activate it: GUI → Settings → Community → check “Show avast! recommendation features”

I have that un-selected as I do not like the LIKE AVAST? advertisement.
I guess it must be activated by default. 
Then you don’t see the Market Tab…

Thanks. This answers what I needed–that my update is fine. This is secondary to whether I want the AD–which I don’t. Thanks again.
RejZoR and I both mentioned this that the avast! Market should have a selection option of its own, as we don’t want the other associated cr*p with the social networking junk ;thumbup Like Avast button branding.
So if by selecting the “Show avast! recommendation features” option you get other totally unrelated cr*p, the avast Market will remain in the closet on my installation. I hate social networking branding of any kind and the thumbsup gets a big thumbsdown from me every time, it makes me want to throw up.

Uncheck the recommendation feature and you eliminate the shopping basket.
Uncheck the Social Networking feature and you get rid of the “I like” button
So can eliminate some or none or all. ;D
Everybody should really be a part of the avast! community. It’s the right thing to do !!!
Wrong, I had both unchecked already and merely checked the “Show avast! recommendation features” option for the test and the other Social Networking feature option remained unchecked. The result of which you see in my image, the sodding Like button.
I’m part of the avast community, but I absolutely hate social networking of any kind.
Guess that means you wouldn’t you my facebook. ;D ;D
Including Facebook, twitter, etc. I don’t have and social network accounts, so there is no way I would create an account to subscribe to any avast related part.

It was meant as a joke. Lighten up even if that’s not possible with all of these spammers you have to contend with.
Hard to lighten up as you say when you loath, detest, hate social networking and the invariable scams that come with them.
I am a new user of 7.0 and I just thought I would add my 2 cents that the market tab should be optional. Alternatively, it is OK for the FREE AV, but once paid, the tab should become optional or removed all together… Otherwise, I am very pleased with 7.0.
You can deactivate it: open GUI → Settings → Community → uncheck “Show avast! recommendation features”

It is optional: Settings > Community > uncheck the two options at the bottom (keep the one at the top :)).
Being part of the Community IQ means you’re part of the solution.
