New to avast- need help with email virus

The background: I was recently infected with Spyware and a few trojans! After cleaning up my system I downloaded and ran avast! free home version and found four more items which are now residing in the virus chest!

Something is definitely still going on in my mail program (OE) that avast did not picked up on and is most likely related to those sneaky trojans! Almost all of my mail (in all boxes) now have an attachment on them! The attachments are all very similar ( AT000 more numbers and dot htm). And NO, I have not opened nor saved any-although I’ve probably mailed a few out! I wasn’t aware of what was happening since the attachment didn’t go on until after I pressed send!

My question is : Does avast scan email in the free version, and if so, how do I configure it to check and clean this? I’d sure appreciate any help!

I should probably forewarn any one helping me that I am not overly familiar with tech terms and may need your advice translated into simpler lingo!

If you are having problems with nasty Trojans give Ewido Security Suite Free a go very good for removal and prevention Ewido Home Page

I don’t think it is a problem. If you use the option ‘read all messages in plain text’ in OE and you receive an email with both plain text and HTML parts, you will see the HTML part as an attachment named ATT00XXX.htm.
