Hi I’ve had the trial period internet download of avast and my trial period is about up.
I like the product. It is asking me to subscribe now, however I have two computers with
avast downloaded and need to know how many home computers (currently two on one gateway)
that I can put under one license. Does avast provide for the typical 2 or 3 computers in a home
with one license? And if so how do I go about paying for this rather than 3 separate.
Also, is there one product that will take care of my anti-virus/spyware/firewall needs for my high speed connection?
http://www.avast.com/eng/home-registration.php - Avast! Home Registration (Usage for Home only NO COMMERCIAL) And yes you can use the same license key on all computers until its at your Home.
Anti Virus i would say Avast! 4.8 Home or if you want a better anti virus which is more better then Avast! 4.8 Pro would be the solution for as a paid one. But Home is not bad but depend on which protection you want too. So i would say try the Home then later if you “want” to try or buy the Pro well its will be up to you. For a firewall i recommand a two ways Firewall like Comodo,Windows Vista Firewall (No the XP because the XP got only 1 way),Online Armor,PC Tools,Zone Alarm and many more… For a anti spyware BASIC i would say Spybot S&D (Used 1 time i find its not bad),Ad-Adware (never used it so i dont know if its good), Windows Defender (Never having problem with it and like i can know its really light). But if you want EXPERT anti spyware which is not as bad recommanded i would say SuperAntiSpyware Free (Tested it in a pc test but if im not wrong he detected some bad wrong cookies and my pc shutting down. But well its a pc test.) with Malwarebytes Free (Cool interface and fast to install i would say its not bad and effective.)
Well about all anti spyware basic or expert are not bad with my firewall and Avast!.
But if u want some other thing like Site Advisor (its not really needed because Avast! got a web shield so why a site advisor because me if im not sure i would just visit their site and ask if this site is safe or no i can say two good one are Mcafee Site Advisor and WOT they work not bad at all and yes maybe some site will be missing but Avast! got a web guard so he can ensure if its really clean or no when scanning the site.
So if u want much more thing like host protect and many more well its up to you (If u want suggestions about like a Cleaner well feel free to reply or make another thread for some users or me will can suggest you some). Also i see a lot people that only got the basic protection (Anti Virus,Anti Spyware,Firewall) and they are never having problem with their computer about virus or something. So my self i can say many guy got a lot protection but after that their cpu or internet are running more slow than before.
Well there you got and i hope i have respond to your question correctly.
Thank you and sorry if i speaked really bad english.
You only need to do this once, if all the computers are in the same home and comply with the Home and non-commercial use requirement (as Mr.Agent said), the same key can be used for multiple systems.
@ Daniel Gregg
If you are contemplating the paid Pro version then you require a separate license for each system.
