New tool

Hi Guys I just found a new tool which looks very promising http://virusinfo.info/showthread.php?t=9184

[*] Download avz4en.zip from http://z-oleg.com/avz4en.zip

[*] Save it to your desktop and unzip it to a folder on your desktop

[*] Double click on AVZ.exe to run it.

[*] Choose from the menu “File” => “System Investigation”

[*] Close all windows except for AVZ

[*] Click on “Start” and save the report to your desktop.

[*] Let the scan run and click “No” on the right when it asks you if you want to view it.

[*] Upload the report you saved on your desktop onto this site in your next reply.

Similar to runscanner but a lot more detailed and in plain English ( it’s a Russian tool by the way )

Currently being used by one person on G2G but I am following it with interest. It works by doing everthing by scripts at a low level during boot so it should kill most of the stubborn ones

Compatible os’s?

Up to and Including Vista a analysis htm is at this link from a real infection. Have a look and see how easy it is to read http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/BrowserModifier-Win32-Fotomoto-and-yksquiqv-exeandqu-t177793.html&gopid=1095391#entry1095391

Hi essexboy,

Why didn’t NickGolovko himself report here about this tool. As I remember well he is one of us Avast forum members, isn’t he? Liked his contributions somehow.

polonus

Not sure really as I heard about this from a third party (we swop tools as we find them)

Thanks essexboy.

If I ever get back to working on live logs I’ll give it a try ;D

I have a log on PCPitstop at the moment that I may try it on if this Vundo file proves stubborn, instead of my normal Avenger nuke ;D
