The latest update completely froze my computer running windows 10 x64. It was so bad I had to download a linux repair program on another computer and transfer it to the affected computer just so I could enter safe mode and uninstall the program.
Do you have a question or problem that you want help with ?
I have been chatting with support for 2 days and I asked them ‘Do you and your support team check the Avast forums at all?’
He said along the lines of ‘It’s ok sir, our engineers are looking at all the issues and fixing them’.
I mentioned that several people are having issues and reporting them on the forum, but i can tell by his tone and answer, that not one of them view this forum. I mean the tech support team. Perhaps the engineers do.
For me (based in Australia), the tech team is in the Philippines. They are always 100% nice but they just don’t listen. They are always too busy reading off a script or something.
I hope you get things back to normal.
avast has only chat support for business users.
And two days?
So you and that person didn’t had sleep for 48 hours ? ;D

Yes I had a problem that I needed help with. I would have thought that was obvious. How do you suggest I reinstall the program when it completely borks the computer?
Avast is the only AV I have ever used. I am not happy that I now have to go and find a replacement AV.
Have you tried a clean install of Avast ??? Here are the instructions:

A big sigh!
Yes! I tried to reinstall it twice both in safe mode and normal Windows. Both times I had to resort to a forced shutdown.
And in case you want to suggest a program on the computer is interfering with it - I disabled all my other security programs and my firewall with the same result.
Sorry but many times disabling a program still leaves part of it running in the background.
Which firewall are you using. ???
You can’t install Avast while in Safe Mode.
Which firewall are you using. ???Doesn't matter I turned it off too. I'm just cheesed off. Avast is the only AV I've ever used. The only one I want to use but apparently from now on I can't unless I run an out of date program which defeats the purpose of running an AV in the first place. :'(
Sorry but I can’t offer help without knowing specifics.
Sorry but I can't offer help without knowing specifics. In safe mode I uninstalled my firewall on the slim chance it was creating the problem. I haven't reinstalled it I am using the windows firewall. Then I used avast uninstaller then I ran revo uninstaller then I ran systemlook then I rebooted into normal windows downloaded a fresh copy of avast and installed it then restarted the computer and when it froze I started the whole scenerio all over again.
You still haven’t supplied any specifics and the instructions I posted for a clean install of Avast certainly aren’t something you followed.
