Since the new update today was downloaded my system has come to a crawl. If I shut Emule down it seems to go back to normal. Is there a fix for this? Is anyone else experiencing this?
Cheers,
Ray

What do you mean? What error message are you receiving? It’s a freeze or a crash?
Which is your operational system?
Well, without further info will be impossible to help…
No error message. The icon in the task bar turns super slow, and the ashserv.exe file uses about 95 to 99% cpu. Windows XP/sp2
Emule is the latest version. Only started happening today after I received a blue box(like always) telling me my virus database has been updated. Ever since then the system just crawls unless I shut down emule, then it goes back to normal.

What new update there hasn’t been a program update for a little while and a VPS update shouldn’t have this effect.
So I’m at a loss as to why this is happening.
Try a repair of avast. Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow. You need to be on-line to do this.
If that doesn’t work try, uninstall, reboot, install, reboot.
It would probably be best to download the latest version of avast and save it to your HDD, somewhere you can find it again. Use that when you reinstall.
cheers…The repair didn’t work, but a complete uninstall and reinstall did the trick. Now I just need to wait for the new registration number as I lost my old one.
Thanks for the help.
Cheers,
Ray
Welcome to the forums, krink.
Glad you got it sorted out. You should recieve a new key in no time at all.
Please come back often, learn more, and maybe help others.
You should get the new key sent to you fairly quickly assuming you re-register the Home version, in the mean time you should be able to use the demo key.
