New update

Is it safe to instal the new version update yet please? Any kinks causing trouble?

Most haven’t had any trouble. But if you’re still on Win98 SE, I’d hold off for awhile.

I see no reason to stay not updated right now 8)

No problems here, I’m Using Xp sp2.

I just did the update and in the last 20 minutes since rebooting afterwards I have gotten at least 150 popup messages wanting to know If I want to allow the program updates to access the internet. And Yes, it is checked of as a program that is supposed to have free internet access by my firewall.

In just the time it has taken to attempt to type this I have been hit by the darn popup box 43, 44, 48 times now.

Make that 53 and I am getting darn frustrated.

The Avast and the sygate firewall have never had problems coexisting before and I have been running them both together for over a year.

Thanks all. I had a problem with a version update a while ago, which required a speedy revision by Avastl, so I delayed this time. I’ll update now though, cheers.

Do you mean avast trying to connect?
Seems obvious… avast components are updated (changed) and the firewall is doing its job, alerting you that a ‘new’ program is trying to connect…
Did you check the option to ‘reming’ the decision of allowing connection?

Maybe just Sygate is not saving the settings… Remove avast entries from it and boot, starting a ‘new’ adding of the avast components.
