Hi…new to the avast, and really digging the software. I have a problem with my firewall blocking youtube. I have it set for ‘whitelist mode’ blocking all, allowing selected. Currently there are no custom rules setup. I have youtube selected to allow on wifi/3G/roaming, but it blocks the videos. If i change the firewall mode to allow all, they work. I’ve tried restarting the app/phone, but it’s still blocked. I’ve also tried to allow random Google apps thinking one of them may be related to youtube, but still can’t get the firewall to allow the youtube app to stream videos. All the other programs i’ve tested seem to be blocking/allowing fine.
to be more specific, only the videos in the youtube app will not start playing…i get ‘connection to server lost’. I can still browse videos, but they won’t play. Like I said earlier, if i enable all apps in the firewall, i can stream the videos fine.
hi, no suggestions? I am unable to play youtube linked videos in facebook and Shazam also. Thinking that flash is being blocked, but don’t see Adobe or Flash as an option that i can block/unblock.
I think that YouTube actually uses some system/Google apps so I guess you should try to unblock Google Play Services and other items that seem like system ones (they are usually grouped together at the end of the list).
