I have just installed Avast Ultimate 2022 Multi-Device on my first device (a Windows 11 laptop) and I’ve noticed that when searching via Google, free security features provided by my ISP, (BT AKA British Telecom) such as parental controls, Safe Search, etc, are being by-passed, even without the Avast VPN turned on. Can anyone explain to me why this might be happening and if there may be a way to resolve this issue?
Hi,
Do you have parental controls on or off as mentioned in this guide?

If on, then perhaps you can temporarily disable Real site in Avast Premium Security and see if that helps?

Thanks for your prompt reply. It’s the second link you kindly provided that is the cause.
I’m not too bothered about losing parental controls as my offspring are old enough to be able to make their own decisions, but rather the security feature called Web Protect. Still, I presume Avast will be able to fill the gaps (hopefully) if the BT feature is no longer available, won’t it?
I have a screenshot of the feature, but I don’t know how to upload it to this forum. I’ll post a link to my online storage at BT to see if that works for you:-

Correct.
Hi,
In that case, I would suggest that you keep “Real Site” on (you will use Avast’s DNS server instead of BT’s)
Avast can do what Web Protects does. Please see this article for more information on the features in Avast Premium Security https://support.avast.com/en-ww/article/Antivirus-FAQ/
