Hi, I’m new to Avast and to this forum. I don’t have the Forum Profile Information or Look and Layout Preferences available on my profile menu. Is there a reason for this and how can I get that enabled?
Yes there is a reason:
- The problem comes from drive by spammers, who having registered put objectionable or commercial links in their profile signature to try and gain link promotion, etc.
There have also been cases of the PM function being abused to spam forum members, so you will notice that you can’t use the PM function either.
Unfortunately because of the actions of others legitimate members suffer by the actions to prevent this spamming.
So only 10 to go ;D

I see that 20 is the magic number. It didn’t take me long to get there. Yay! ;D
Check your signature as you have double http settings in your links making them not work.

As a newbie, I also have a problem with the profile settings. Why is it that when I make a post my email icon can be clicked for others to see when in the settings for my profile I have clicked for it to be hidden?

your email is hidden (see pic, as I see). only you and the moderators can see the email id.

I have another question. Is the time in the Profile a time local to Avast? It’s not my time and I can’t reset it.
yes it is. you can’t change until your post count is 20.
