So firstly, I have been AVAST user since its inception, and until the new fancy interface, it was great. Ever since that time, my W7x64 SP1 machine is hosed EVERY TIME AVAST UPGRADES. It is always high CPU (100 percent pegged) and main culprit is WMIPrvse. Strangely, if I uninstall and reinstall AVAST (really - you have to do that every time ???), the laptop then works normally again. It has got to the point where I DREAD that sign “AVAST needs to restart your computer” - NOOOOOOOO !!!
In all seriousness, either you fix this crap or this is the last year you will have my money. And DON’T update my AVAST without my agreement - I NEVER upgrade my machine until I am confident that there are no bugs in the Windows updates, hardware patches etc., so why on earth do you auto-update my AVAST to a feckin BETA version ???
First this is a beta build even if a Release Candidate - You would only get the beta builds if you had previously used the beta version ?
I have complained about this on numerous occasions and the explanation was for those who have been on the previous betas they want as many as possible to take part in the beta releases, hence the auto update.
You can either:
Do a clean install, so there is no reference to prior use of the beta stream.
Or set the Program Update to Manual.
Can I get a link to the last NON-BETA version and I will do an uninstall/reinstall. Once again today I have the dreaded message “AVAST needs to restart your computer” - groundhog day ?
I need to also be sure that I have been removed from the BETA updates cycle (Admin ??)
