New version 20.1.8996 of Avast Cleanup product has just been released!

What’s new in Avast Cleanup product?

  • New feature - Drive Defrag: Defragments the hard disk using the default Windows Defrag feature with our nice and easy to understand UI. Defragmented hard drive speeds up the overall performance of the PC. It will be available only on classic HDD drives, SSD drives could not be defragmented by design but there is available a trim operation which should increase the effectiveness of future data write operations.
  • New feature - 64bit version support in order to make the product a bit more optimized for the today’s PCs.
  • New feature - Brand new setup and update technology to improve the installation and update success rate and user experience.
  • Improvement - Updated Statistics view: Clearer view of what was cleaned and optimized with option to filter the results throughout time.

  • Fixed various bugs & issues to make Avast Cleanup smoother to use.

If you download Avast Cleanup Premium from https://www.avast.com/en-gb/installation-files, you are still getting the old version.

thank you for the report, we already know about it and working on it.
It is due to the fact that we replaced the setup technology in the latest version so it is slightly more difficult for us to get the new build everywhere however it is already in progress and it will be replaced in upcoming days.

Until then please use the link I posted here on the forum in the new version announcement.

Hi,

I was able to get the logs you probably already sent because of this problem, we have to take a look into it again.
I will let you know about the progress.

When it comes to your question about the update distribution, it is currently on hold because we would like to test the migration from previous version (19.1) again before we will distribute it to everyone.
Reinstallation seems to be a good way how to get the new version while not breaking anything, the only trouble we have is regarding the update itself.

Let me announce that the distribution of the new version has been fixed so now it shall be possible to download the latest package even from our website.
