New Version: 3.55.2393.607

Hi!

We have released a new version of SafeZone Browser. If you are user of Avast 17.x and you use Win 7 or higher, you should get the update automatically. If you do not have the latest Avast version, please update your Avast first.

3.55.2393.607

New features:

  • New cross-extension communication (fixed problems with missing addons settings)
  • AdBlocker, Avast Passwords and Online Security extensions are now enabled in incognito mode
  • Added possibility to add a new folder into an existing folder on the bookmarks bar

Bug fixes:

  • If you are in Bank Mode, popup windows now open in bank mode
  • Fixed double Bank mode notification (rare case)
  • Fixed: Bank mode “Switched” page is displayed on different tab (rare case)

If you would like to check what version you have, in SZB please click the top-left menu button → About. The update requires restart of the browser.

Not the latest version but it still says “up-to-date” and no button to check for updates.

I restarted the browser 3 times but I still have the version Eddy has. I’m using the latest stable version of Avast. win 10 1703.

Edit: typo

Ran a manual update for the VPS as well as avast itself.
Opened the browser and it said Version 3.55.2393.596 - New version 3.55.2393.607 is available
Closed the browser and opened it again.
Still saying the same.
After closing and opening again, it started downloading and gave the option to relaunch the browser.
It now shows the latest version.

After doing that I can’t open the SafeZone browser. See attachment.

I did try as administrator.

Thought that bug was solved.
Looks like it is not.

Shows the new version is available but when I close and reopen SafeZone it still shows the previous version.

I done a repair but that didn’t help.

Close the browser, wait a few minute so it really is closed.
Open it again.
I had the same version/message and when opening again it started to download the new version.

I done that, didn’t work. Uninstalled SafeZone, reinstalled…now get the same error message.

Could not update, after 10 attempts including running as administrator, turned of shields for 10 minutes in avast free antivirus. It updated immediately re-activated shields.

Got this post and immediately ran the update for SafeZone Browser.

As expected, update went smoothly, but did take a bit of time to complete.

Most important question : When will extensions for SafeZone Browser be available ?

Greetz, Red.

Hi:
I still ask you why update is added to the previous version. Other words: Why update is not overwritten on former version or former version is not removed and cannot be removed manually?
Marek

The SafeZone Browser, like other avast components can be uninstalled.

Likewise if you do a custom install of avast you can uncheck that component.

Marek,

because it is a update and not a entirely new version/application.

Ok! I know the features what you describe, but look at C\Program Files\Avast Software\SZBrowser\ and what you see between others: previous versions (each about 151 MB) and last one also 151 MB. If add all the versions you can obtain even 500 MB for example. Why for? Its a question. Why so famous company like Avast cannot remove the previous version itself? Other browser providers do it.
Marek

I standard run browser in all fail problem update.
How run Administrator is success for install update.

When you start Avast Safe Zone Browser, it seems that the problem of forcibly switching power option to “high performance” seems to be fixed. Thank you for dealing with it! (Automatic translation)
