Hello everyone,

we have released a new stable version of the Avast Secure Browser 68.0.746.60.

Release notes:

  • Updated core codebase to Chromium 68 (https://chromereleases.googleblog.com/2018/07/stable-channel-update-for-desktop.html)
  • Added support for setting a default password manager
  • Added support for importing cookies from the settings page
  • Improved design of the Extension Guard interstitial
  • “Clear browsing data” feature has been renamed to “Privacy Cleaner”
  • Translation bubble will not popup automatically
  • Fixed: Rare crash after accepting on-boarding screen
  • Fixed: Infinite downloading of PDF files when setting "Download PDF files instead of … " is turned on with combination of using 3rd party PDF viewer
  • Fixed: Bank mode does not use the right browser settings (visible mainly on the New Tab Page)
  • Fixed: Offline New Tab page formatting issues

Known bugs:

  • Two browser windows may appear after logon under specific circumstances

How to install:

  1. If you have the browser already installed, it should get the update automatically (please check secure://settings/help)
  2. Or you can download and install the browser from here: https://www.avast.com/secure-browser

Hi Andrej. I have just got Secure Browser and I have noticed a couple of things:
1- It seems it exists only in 32 bit
2- SkyGo site doesn’t work. It seems something related to DRM management

Hope you will improve the browser, it seems very interesting

  1. We only have a 32-bit version available at the moment. We do want to support 64-bit as soon as we can but it does involve quite a bit of work from us so won’t be available for some time.
  2. I have opened a ticket to investigate SkyGo and find out why it isn’t working. Hopefully it’s something we can fix in an upcoming release.
