[New version] avast! External Control 1.5.360

great job rejzor, My program is useless to windows users.

logic-dag is useful for reporting the status of the logic board on Macs G3 or G4 ( iBook laptops have logic board falures it is a huge design flaw so I made this to tell users when their board is in trouble and nearing falure) there is currently no pre G3 support (and there never will be)

G5 support will come soon.

Current version is 0.1.2 if you awn an iBook and would like a copy IM me

Is this a New Verison of Avast Home Program ???

Nope, its just an extra addon to extend avast!'s functionality and ability to clean viruses even if avast! default interface cannot be launched.

Ok …do I need to install it though …things like this confuse me …sry :o

No. The program is standalone as it is. Just extract it from archive to whatever you want location and run it. avast! External Control in mainly for advanced users (are you?). Well except Brutal Remove, there is no feature that could harm avast! installation.

RejZor, very thanks for your efforts… We won’t thank you as you deserve

Version 0.9.129 released right now.
You can get it from my webpage (www.security-ops.tk) or from the first post of this topic.

0.9.129 is one update I will not get

hers is why:

+Brutal Remove function replaced with generic uninstall utility from Alwil Software
sonetimes the usual way didnot work and i had to use brutal remove. that feature was great.

Hm so you’re saying that avast!'s default uninstall utility didn’t work (the one you can download from Download section)? And Brutal Remove did? I can make dual selection for generic uninstall tool and for my own Brutal Remove in case the first one fails to clean avast! AV.

avast uninstall utitlity works. but I Liked your brutal remove feature

Ok i just implimented both methods so you can choose which one you want to use. Just some more tests and it will be ready soon

great! I think having an option of both is better anyway  Good work. BTW $395 check is on the way to them. Ill soon see what I can do with that program

Hehe that program has a dual functionality. You can use it as program builder or as installation creator  I know i don’t want to learn C++ until i’m gonna run out of options here

yea rembering Cocoa is enough for me ;D

Currently working on version 0.9.135
I’ll add previously mentioned removal methods and startup section status for better analysis. I think it’ll be much easier to analyse problems with this tool, because you’ll be able to read all required info in one place. Very cool for those who don’t know how to use regedit and how to find different entries and service status

I’m also thinking about fast log dump,so AEC (avast! External Control) can dump all status info into a text file for further submission/analysis or for simple copy&paste text on this forum.

ooo sounds good.

Question: When will the program come out of the BETA stage? (i.e. version 1.0)

Sooner than you think my friend

ooo i look forward to it  (Look at my signature  )

Hehe thanks
I think i’ll finish v1.0 before the end of this week. I’ll put AEC through heavy testing today to eliminate all known/unknown bugs. The only bugs that might stay are spelling errors in text, because my primary language isn’t english so its not so easy
But i’m doing my best and hoping that all of you might wanna help me
