New Version of Avast

My laptop is Win 7 (64-bit) SP1 with all the latest patches and updates from Microsoft Update. I uninstalled my previous antivirus! Now here’s the A BIG QUESTION MARK??? i downloaded it and installed it? While doing a quick scan my laptop went to BSOD??? i did this 3 times using this method uinstalled via Add/Remove and then using the avast uninstaller while on safe mode?

One another thing that annoys me is that once i opened Avast prior to uninstalling it and using avast uninstaller. It says Avast PRO version??? OMG!!! can’t it just install the FREE Version of Avast instead of first letting the user use PRO. This is just a copy of LavaSoft.

Can you please fix these issues. Thanks.

Here is the free version http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/avast_free_antivirus_setup.exe and it would pay to run the uninstaller for your previous AV as well to delet remnants, most legitimate AV uninstallers can be found here http://singularlabs.com/uninstallers/security-software/

Run the tools before installing avast and reboot when completed then follow with the avast install, register and reboot again.

I did what ever u mentioned above. Still same problem happening?

You’ll have to provide specifics to which problem, BSOD’S or your still ending up with pro

1st i had MSE i then uninstalled it, downloaded Avast. In the process of installing it and after it reaches 100% it then installs some more files. In the process of doing that, my laptop suddenly restarts itself and BSOD appears. After that my laptop restarts. I then want to see which version of Avast i got and i see it’s PRO version and it had 10 days trial version. Windows Action Center can’t detect Avast. I did this 3 times and all 3 times same problem occured.

Avast copied the same thing as LavaSoft. 1st time users they install LavaSoft Free Edition but instead they get the PRO version of it. After 30 days if users don’t activate the PRO version, then the program will automatically become FREE edition and ask the user to activate only once.
