New version of MBAM detected as rootkit

Avast is detecting a new version (v1.50) of Malwarebytes’s Anti-Malware as rootkit. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Presumably you are running the Pro version of MBAM ?

Obviously choose Ignore, but before doing so click the Advanced option and see if there is a submit to avast labs.

You can also report it directly here:
There is a new on-line contact form, http://www.avast.com/contact-form.php?loadStyles for: - * Sales inquiries; Technical issues; Website issues; Report false virus alert in file; Report false virus alert on website; Press (Media), issues.

  • If you are reporting an FP, then you get another input filed open, click Browse button and navigate to the file you wish to submit.

No problem for me. 8)

No problem here either.

You won’t find this on a) the free SAS or b) on a standard on-demand scan as it is being detected by the anti-rootkit scan.

So if you want to test on the MBAM Pro version you would have to reboot and see if it is picked up 8 minutes after boot.
