V7 update message
Im using version Avast Free 7.0.1474 on my main computer and I get “new version” popups claiming a version 7.0.1483 is the most recent version. I can’t find such a version at http://www.avast.com/release-history but an 8.0.1483. The same (wrong?) version number when opening Avast and look under Update.
Software updater
It isn’t aware of the 10.3 branch of Flash for Windows, I have the most recent version 10.3.183.68 installed but updater claims 11.6.602.180 is the latest (yesterday it was the older built 171 instead). Updater should not claim/whine the version is outdated nor asking the user to update - this version is still supported by Adobe.
The Firefox ESR branch is either unknown to the software updater (software updater shows installed version as 17.0.4.0 and claims 19.0.2 as most recent version) or it detects a wrong version number (should be 17.0.4). Thunderbird may be affected as well.

Software updater says Java 6 needs to be updated, although I’m running Java 7.
But it’s not a problem, just tell the software updater to ignore programs where you disagree with it; you’re no worse of than without the software updater!
Today, I’ve updated my Avast 7 onto Avast 8. Program Updater tells me now, my Thunderbird version 17.0.2.0 to be old and I should install 17.0.4. It says “preparing” and there is a status bar scrolling on the right side, that is scrolling and scrolling since 4 hours now. A click on “refresh” didn’t help. Meanwhile, I updated Thunderbird manually, but Program Updater still want to update Thuderbird. It says it still would be 17.0.2.0, regardless of repeatedly clicking on “refresh”. I tried to “ignore” and “un-ignore” the update, but that didn’t help either.
