New Version: v75.1 BETA

Hello all

We have released a new beta version of Avast Secure Browser - 75.1.1520.101 / 75.1.1520.100. It contains two new features that make the browser even better and faster than before.

We need your help! It would be great if you can try the new version and provide your feedback. Also if you find any problems, please let us know. Thanks.

This version includes a new performance optimization feature, called Performance Manager, which reduces RAM and CPU usage and extends battery life. Also we have added Hack Check notifications.

Performance Manager - Optimizes CPU & RAM and extends battery life:
This feature will benefit browser users who regularly have multiple tabs open, particularly those using machines with limited memory or laptop users, for whom it will help conserve battery.
Automatically suspending tabs reduces memory consumption and leads to longer battery life, which could translate to better performance of the user’s computer.

Hack Check - Be alerted if your data has been compromised:
The Hack Check feature has been improved with new warning pop-ups. These pop-ups are shown when we detect that your login data might be compromised (most likely stolen). In this case Hack Check recommends changing your password immediately. It also prompts a user when we detect that the user’s password is weak and offers a password generator for creating a new one.

  • New doodle on the New Tab Page
  • Fixed manually added search engine disappearing after relaunch

Hi Ondrejz

I’m getting this ‘error’ when attempting update via “About Avast Secure Browser”

Thanks Ondrej, auto-update did work for me.

For the interested ones, a screenshot of the new doodle.

Thanks Will, we are working on the fix since the morning. Some users have been updated some not.

Thank you for the report.

Next beta version will contain Performance Managemet settings in the UI  stay tuned

Great. 8)

No worries.
This morning I booted up and Avast Secure Browser (beta) updated automatically. Maybe I tried a manual update to early after your original announcement.
All’s good now, thanks.

Hello all,

we pushed out a new version: 75.1.1528.101/101

Now you can find the Performance management in Browser settings!

Strange, the version# matches but I can’t find this Performance manager. :o

Can not find the Performance Manager here either, however am a bit confused as to whether the version should show .101/101 0r .101 ???

Mine shows .101

Mine also, hence my confusion as that’s not what’s showing in Ondrejz’s post.
It’s showing .101/101 as you can see :-\

Click the settings-> Advanced-> Performance Manager.I have 2 options on the PC, I believe the others are visible for notebooks, netbooks etc.

My version here is 75.1.1528.101.

Hi Jefferson Sant

Yes but what version does your Browser show. Sorry I see it now.
As you can see from my Screenshot with version 75.1.1528.101 mine is showing very different from your screenshot.

I put the version 75.1.1520.101 previous post.it was a mistake is actually 75.1.1528.101.
See attached

Yes I saw that however, My Options layout under ‘Advanced’ is not the same as your screenshot and I don’t have a ‘Performance Manager’ Option, neither does Bob; while we all apparently have the same version.

If you type in the search field the “Performance manager” option does not appear in the settings as in the image below.

“No Search Results Found”
Well no worries. It will show up eventually :stuck_out_tongue:
