got an alert message when i opened an email-win 32 tibs azx(?)…since then i used on-demand scanner and it runs clean, but i get a virus alert the next time i start…what do I do??? >:(
if you are not make sure if there is a virus in you computer.
you can just update the file or sample to www.virustotal.com
and wait for a minute.
Open the email or save/run the attached file?
Besides a thorough scanning with avast, it will be good if you download, install, update and run AVG Antispyware. Some users recommend SUPERantispyware, Spyware Terminator and/or a-squared (take care about false positives). If any infection is detected, better and safer is send the file to Quarantine than to simple delete than.
What Operating System are you using ?
What is your email program ?
What action did you choose when avast alerted to the email, didn’t you delete it ?
If you did it is possible you won’t get any infection found, it also depends on what type of scan you did, Quick, Standard, Thorough and if archives were selected, and you didn’t mention this ?
You also don’t mention what information is in the alert on start.
What is the infected file name, where was it found e.g. (C:\windows\system32\infected-file-name.xxx) ?
Check the avast! Log Viewer (right click the avast icon), Warning section, this contains information on all avast detections.
The first reply has a typo ion the link.
Should be virustotal, not toatal
When you get the “problem loading page” message, just backspace through that extra “a” and hit enter.

was my fault…
