New VPS Update Notification

Uh… this is very interesting… new vps notification. Though my 1st time seeing this? Anyone else seen this before?

It also used to be in earlier versions of avast 8 and avast 7 (attached image).

But, it still screws up the voiceover notification and the duration of the popup doesn’t follow the settings for the update notification popup.

On my 64 bit Dell running Windows 8.1.1, I receive the update notice but no voice over notification
On my 32 bit Dell running Windows 8.1.1, I receive the update notice including the voice over notification
This leads me to believe that the problem must be related to something in the 64 bit version. ???

I’m not sure that this is the case (certainly not in win7) - on my win7 32bit netbook (used to monitor update notification hassle), I get the new dual pop-up on occasion. The top part (1/3rd) is the update notice and the bottom is the ad/offer/info element. The voice-over doesn’t happen and the popup duration doesn’t conform to the update popup settings.

So the piggybacked update/ad popup might have changed form, but it still screws with the normal update notification (which for most of the time I get).

So for me until the new/dual update notification conforms to the regular update notification works correctly (including voice-over & update notification popup duration honoured), then it will remain disabled on my main system.

Yeah I had one too few days ago. There was a new vps update but it was only voice activated the vps popup notification at the bottom right hand corner didn’t show up like it always does.

No vps version mentioned in the update notification.
No sound.
But “push advertisement” from avast.
Exactly what we have told avast many times not to do. >:(
