New web-page filetype .ECE

In the standard list of documents to scan you have both HT? (htm, html) and ASP today, but some web-pages also uses ECE as document type (like http://www.nettavisen.no). Of course I can add it myself, but if this is a new standard type that many sites will use, maybe it should be a standard type?

I’m just wondering - what kind of file extension is that? It’s definitely not associated to any application on my machine (such as the web browser), even the Windows file association web service doesn’t know it… so I’m asking which application is outputing these files…?

Thanks
Vlk

i dont know if this helps but I can find no file type on mac either

Lars, could you post any information about this extension?
I have never heard anything about it before you have posted something here…
Does avast! scan the files if you put ECE on the extension list? ::slight_smile:

The file hinding behind .ECE is a HTML tyep document. Don’t ask why some sites has started to use this extension (www.nettavisen.no is owned by Norways #2 TV station

Yes they are scanned when I add it manually (execept when there are parameter after, but that’s another thread

If you (or avast! team) found the solution for the ‘parametric files’, please, post… I could not imagine that a site could be this ‘bizarre’ extension… :stuck_out_tongue:
