Newbie on Board Needing Direction.

I am new to avast! 4.5 Home Edition. My questions will probably be very basic.
For example, here is my first question: In the avast! Mail Protection Wizard, Basic Settings, it includes the following “For a list of supported e-mail programs, please see on-line help”. Where is on-line help that it refers to?
Probably on-line help is right in front of my nose but I fail to find it.
Second question (more important than first): Am I in the proper forum? If not, please point me in the right direction.
I have been told it is impolite to thank someone in advance but I think it is appropriate to do so in this situation, so, thanks in advance for any assistance that may be forthcoming.

1] Mail protection wizzard is only for 9x / me, not for NT based OS's. 2] start > programs > Avast > help
