Can anyone please advise? I have run several full scans, as comprehensive as possible, and find these same results every time: files that can’t be scanned for some reason. I can’t seem to fix or delete or remove them. Can anyone please fill me in? Thanks!
These files just cannot be scanned due to passwords, you can just ignore them. If something opens them they will be scanned.

avast is a antivirus program and will only take action on infected files. when infected files are detected they are given a malware type name. What you see is a scan error report
