RobGD3, thanks to Gandalf1369, I believe my Outlook sending problem is fixed! Since you’re having issues as well and I didn’t know if you’d see the other thread, wanted to post back here.

Don’t pay any attention to the first part that I did, as that is NOT a good solution. But further down, Gandalf suggested this:

[b][i]From the avast GUI click “Settings” → “Active Protection” → “Web Shield” (click the gear symbol on the right) → then while in the Main Settings window put a check mark in the “Scan traffic from well known browser processes only”.

Hopefully this will allow you to send and receive emails thru Outlook and, at the same time, continue with complete avast! protection while browsing the web.

I made this change and have tried sending emails in Outlook several times and each time worked like a charm.I don’t know what that item is for that he suggested I put a check mark, but it sure works!
