Newest Avast update, Shields wont turn on.

Hello!

I had recently done a update for Avast a night ago. When my computer did a restart I received a Window stating windows didnt close down correctly, something about the security was not on and now Avast states my Real time shields are turned off. I have tried to turn them on and have even shut down my computer to see if it was just stuck or a glitch. No Luck! Can someone help me. Please.

Try a repair, click to uninstall Avast in Programs and Features and on next screen choose repair…reboot when completed.

I had same problem. Tried the “repair” option suggested here. It worked. Avast now working normally.
