Hi

I have a porblem when I use “supersearch” in newsleecher…
when using this button, newsleecher should preform a search on the web to find simalalr news posts.

But something in avarst start scanning my outcome request so I never get in touch with the server
I get this messages

Avast!: Connection timeout
Internet connection tileout elapsed. continue waiting?
(newsLeecher.exe → 98.70-86-176.reverse.theplanet.com:119)

I have tryed to turn off the internet mail component, with no luck

Please help me out :slight_smile:

Sorry, it works if I turn off the internet mail component,

And it also works, when I turn OFF
Scan inbound news
Scan Outbound news

But isent there a way to let newsleecher work with out turning it off?

You can try increasing the avast timeout value:

Internet Mail provider > Advanced tab > In the Internet connection timeout box try a higher value … maybe 360 seconds.

The supersearch uses a protocol other than NNTP on port 119 and that is a problem for the mail scanner. The workaround is the option “Use alt. supersearch port” in NewsLeecher options or to put the address 70.86.176.98 to the Internet Mail’s ignored addresses.
