I updated two machines to 11.1.2245, from the previous Avast 2016 version. On the first machine, ng hardware virtualization remained installed, and is operating.
On the second one, “ngtool uninstall” ran during setup and uninstalled hardware virtualization, even though the machine has hardware virtualization enabled in BIOS and worked fine with NG hardware virtualization.
When going to the “change” option of the uninstall program from “Programs and Features,” hardware virtualization is no longer an option to select.
Is this something Avast detected with my second machine, and I should leave it as is, or should I reinstall Avast and set up hardware virtualization again? I have found that running the Avast installer and choosing hardware virtualization there fixes this issue, but I really don’t want NG hardware virtualization if Avast is detecting something on the machine that could cause a problem.
I don’t expect anyone knows about this behavior, but I thought I’d ask. Seems weird to me.
