Ng is Incompatible with Windows 8.1 64 bit on my machine. Can that be made compatible with Windows 8.1 64 please? That is what the Program Compatibility troubleshooter showed.
NG is compatible with Windows 8.1
Do you have the hardware virtualization enabled?
Was it enabled during the installation of avast?
I have it enabled and the file is: mftutil.exe that is Incompatible. Sorry about the mix up and NG works fine on my laptop but it doesn’t work on my desktop. Why won’t it work on my desktop?
Try this:
- Disconnect from the net
- Remove avast completely (use the uninstall tool also)
- Reboot
- Reboot and enter the bios.
- Disable the hvm
- Boot and install avast without the NG part
- Reboot and enter the bios
- Enable hvm
- Add NG to avast and reboot.

- Boot and install avast with the NG part
- Reboot.
The first one didn’t work and I still get the same issue with mftutil.exe. I will try the second one and thanks for helping me.
