Nitro Definitions Updates Correct Settings? Auto, Manual,Ask?

Hello all,
I just started using Nitro today. So far as I can tell, there have been no Virus Def updates yet. It’s been about 12 hours. My current latest is 160621-1. I have my update settings set to “Ask when update is available”. Is this correct? I understand that the cloud is supposed to automatically download them for me. Am I correct on this? Should I switch to “Automatic Update”? thanks!

And what has a Nitro vps to do with avast ? ???

Thanks for the quick response. Here is my question

Do you have streaming updates ticked? If yes, you don’t have to worry about anything.

The latest Avast release (12.1.2272) is named “Nitro Update”.

I have “Enable Streaming Updates” ticked. I also have chosen “Ask when a new update is available” ticked.

As you’re talking about VPS, yes.
Else, Stream Updates won’t work.

Under Virus Definitions click on settings and click on automatic updates and enable streaming updates.

My current latest definitions update is 160621-1. Is this the latest for you all?

Yep, same here.

Oh good. Thank you.

You’re welcome.

I got impatient and didn’t wait for the Auto Update, but I manually did the update just now. Version 160622-0.

Now it is 160622-1

Hi DavidR,

Just "nitro"ed my wife’s laptop. Avast SafeZone Browser stayed on from when it came free. Is it now a trial version?

your forum friend,

polonus

Well I have not installed SZ Browser after my first trial of it. I can’t really say for sure if it is in the avast program for all free users, but I believe that is the case.

There is a new version of the SZ Browser - https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=187709.0 - and that states it is in the Nitro program version.

Tempus fugit…
