No action on Spam in Outlook 2010

Hi Forum
I have recently upgraded to the Pro Version of Avast 5.0, to get the antispam function. But it does not seem to work on.
I’m using a Windows7 pc, Outlook 2010 (Imap), everything is patched to newest version.

In avast I can see the message: “Last email marked as spam: Incoming email ‘Account Termination Notice’ From…”, so Avast is actually catching something.

I would guess that the mentioned mail was moved to the “Avast Junk” junk folder and marked as SPAM, but nothing happens, in outlook.

What do I do ???

Kind regards

Jesper

Jesper,
could you please elaborate more on what actually happened with that email? Please check your inbox and the outlook junk folder. The folder called “Avast Junk” is only used with old Outlooks that do not have their own Junk folder. Let me know where you found it and whether the subject contains the SPAM prefix or not. We will try to take it from there.

Cheers.

Hi
I will try to explain a little bit better, I hope this helps

In Avast I can see the message "Last Email marked as spam: Incoming email “Account…”
In outlook I can see this mail in the inbox, but it is
a. Not marked as Spam b. Not moved to a Spam folder.

I outlook I can select the mail and click on “spam” button in the Ribbbon.
Then is the email marked as Spam, but it is still not moved to the a spam folder.
There is no default spam folder.

Kind regards
Jesper Kick

I am having the exact same issue. I am running windows 7 64 bit with the latest updates to Avast and Outlook 2010.

My outlook is setup to an exchange account and no POP or IMAP accounts.

Before Avast Outlooks built in Spam protection would move the files to the spam folder. After installing the latest Avast Internet Suite the spam messages are no longer identified and moved to the junk folder. I get on average 100+ spam emails an hour so having the filtering no longer working is making me really regret my purchase. Please help soon!

turns out we cannot scan IMAP or exchange messages. will add it to feature requests

Hi Kurt
Thanks for your reply. I look forward to the implementation of IMAP

.

Count me as well for an imap spam check in the Outlook 2010 addon. It’s frustrating!
