No action taken ???

During screen saver mode, V.R.D.B. caught this. (see attachment). I gave it “no action taken”. Was this the correct thing to do ? I do have the latest version and updates on my system for SAS.

If you selected that basically it takes none of the actions listed above it, the file remains in its location (not always wise, send to the chest is the safest option), but it won’t let you run it as it is considered infected, you can click no action till you are blue in the face it won’t let you run it.

However, had you checked the forums you will have found that this is a false positive detection and a VPS update has already corrected it. So you can’t have the latest VPS version or it wouldn’t be detected, I don’t know what SAS has to do with anything though. Ensure you have the latest VPS.

Just to be exact, VRDB is virus recovery database, that has nothing to do with virus detection, but executable infected files repairing

Sorry, I meant SpywareBlaster.

If that be the case, Why did VRDB catch it in screen saver mode, and report it ?? Thanks to all responses. I now have all the latest updates (I guess) ! Hasn’t come up again so far. Question, if I had put it in the chest what would have happened ?

avast catches viruses, not VRDB. The antivirus, not the VRDB. It’s just a semantic issue

In this case, nothing. You will have the option to restore the file later. Chest is the safer option (specially for non-system files/folders).

Again, thanks Tech.

You’re always welcome
