Avast used to append a message about the result of its checks.
(One gets a sense of security?).
That (notice) has now seized.
Has avast stopped checking, and if not, how to reinstate that message ?.
Thanks for your advice. Philip
Don’t forget that you will not see the inserted note in the ‘Sent Items’ folder of your mail program,
because avast adds the note after the mail leaves the mail program.
Besides this, check your avast! Internet Mail provider settings (and Outlook pluggin as well).
You’re not absolutely right. In MS Outlook notes are inserted immediately when you press send button, so even in Outbox it will be seen.
thanks for that
I didn’t even consider outgoing mail. :-[

The avast!WEBforum Team.
there used to be a note attached at the bottom of the receive mail, indicating that avast checked the contents and (usually) its clean.
No more!.
p.s.
using mozilla firefox on win2K
Well, what about the “Last scanned” and “Scanned count” items of the Internet Mail provider? (you can see them in the On-access scanner window when you click on the avast! blue tray icon). Does it change/increase when you send or receive an e-mail?
