Hello forum,
I did not receive a confirmation mail after registering for a new my avast account. I tried the “resend” button several time and I checked my spam folder too. Any ideas, what’s going wrong here?
Thanks in advance

Still no confirmation mail within 36 hours. Is it normal that sending out a confirmation mail takes that long?
Whilst I’m not entirely sure what/which account this is - is it the my.avast.com ?
If so it isn’t normal, I assume that you gave the correct email address.
I’m also not sure where this resend button is that you are talking of ?
If this is my.avast.com - You could try adding a new email in the Profile settings, use one with a different domain (ISP or email server) and see if that gets through
Check that the email isn’t getting intercepted by your or ISP anti-spam.
After 3 days still no confirmation mail. When I try to log in with my email address and my password (which I chose when creating the account) the web page tells me that my account is “UNVERIFIED”. I can see a button RESEND, which indicates, that the confirmation mail (that I never received) will be sent out again. I clicked that button a several dozen times now. But still no confirmation mail from avast.
I added avast.com to the list of trusted domains in my hotmail account.
I also tried registering with an alternate email address. Still no confirmation mail.
There ist no mail in my junk folder and my mail account is fully operational.
Can someone help?
Thanks!
OK, it’s working now. I added a third mail address, this time a gmail account, which seemed to work - I received the confirmation mail. And a few seconds later, the hotmail confirmation rushed in silently. Strange.
Seems that the avast registration procedure has some issues sending out mails to hotmail.com.
Thanks
No problems here.
I haven’t heard of any specific issues relating to Hotmail, as in the past we have suggested if an email fails to use a free one like Yahoo or Hotmail as an alternative. Though Some emails may well be deleted without ever being sent to a spam folder so the user isn’t even aware of it happening.
The main thing is that you have now received it in prompt fashion as is normal.
