Your program show yesterday… and?

That database version is correct. I still have 131122-0 here.

Avast Will Give you a error massage if something is wrong

why does some Go bananas if they have not seen a Update popup for 5min

you have stream Updates that are pushed Out evry 5min…

VPS contain The previous released stream updates
before stream Updates arrived they where relased twice a Day… More if needed and some Days none. It Depends whats going on Out in The virus world

Besides he’s reading the VPS date format wrong. He actually has the VPS update from November 22, 2013 . . .

How is he reading anything incorrectly as he hasn’t said anything, just what is displayed on his screen.

It is displayed on your avastUI according to the standard VPS numbering convention YYMMDD-99 ;D.

–self delete with apologies–

  1. Posting a screenshot and inquiring why there’s been no def updates for close to 24 hrs is “going bananas”? :o
  2. Spellcheck.

OOPS… My bad (blushes profusely) The title should be No def updates since early Nov 22? (Obvious typo) The “question” still stands however… 24 hrs without a def update seemed a bit…unusual to me.

The title of the thread reads “No def updates since early Nov 11?” and his screen shot shows a VPS of 131122-0 . . .

I did read your post about the typo in the thread title. I was responding to the post from DavidR . . .

1) Posting a screenshot and inquiring why there's been no def updates for close to 24 hrs is "going bananas"? :o
we see questions like this here quite often....

stop worrying about updates, the program does this automatically and if something is wrong there will be a error Message

install forget and let avast do its work…

Avast 9 isn’t so reliant on the regular VPS updates and is on a different update stream for regular VPS updates (different to that of earlier avast versions). So the information on the http://www.avast.com/virus-update-history page may not be the same for avast 9. Though according to that avast 8 and earlier versions are also on VPS version 131122-0.

You should be receiving the streaming updates that happen in the background, so far after VPS 131122-0 I have received 257 streaming updates.

Thank you DavidR for the polite, thorough & informative reply, it’s very much appreciated!

You’re welcome.
