No DNS after avast Randomly changes power policy

After an recent update late last month My Avast Internet Security Crashes my NIC Killer E2200 Gigabit Ethernet Controller and it refuses to get DNS from my router unitl i reboot.(takes up to 10 minutes to shutdown before restarting) normally seconds

This randomly happens while I’m browsing.
The network Diag Reports the Root cause of my internet loss as:
"The DNS server isn’t responding
Your computer is trying to use a DNS server that is incorrect or doesn’t exist. "

Immediately Preceding this happening in the event logs each time is the event:
“Process C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\AvastSvc.exe (process ID:2404) reset policy scheme from {381b4222-f694-41f0-9685-ff5bb260df2e} to {381b4222-f694-41f0-9685-ff5bb260df2e}”
From the UserModePowerService
Following that is a DNS Event for various domains “Name resolution for the name skydrive.wns.windows.com timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded.”

I have had to uninstall avast to be able to use the internet for more than a few minutes
