No files scanned

I just noticed the other day that when I scan for viruses either quick or full system scan zero files are scanned! Boot scan seems OK, but not the other modes. Looking at the logs and most all the entries are zero!
One startup scan was

Try a repair…Control Panel>Programs and Features>Uninstall a Program>double click “avast”>click “repair”>reboot.

Thank you for the info.
I did the repair and did a reboot and tried “Full System Scan” and a window popped up"You are Unprotected" Avast Background services nor running"
I clicked on “Resolve All”
New Window “…Allow this App to Run” =Avast Virus Scanner Clicked “YES”
Back to “… Unprotected” screen
It then quickly jump to new window “You are Protected”
Tried to “full System Scan” again
Under that was a green lettering “no Threat found”
I then went to Scan history and all values where zero (as the pervoius ones I had tried)
Again tried the “Scan for viruses” route and all the same windows/message popped up again.
Sound like it(AVAST) is not working!

Hi,
I am using Avast Internet Security build 12.3.3154.23
Avast is the only virus program running or installed
and I have been using Avast for at least 6 or seven years starting with Win 7 now with 10
Years before that on other computers was Norton

Download Avast Internet Security: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_internet_security_setup_offline.exe
Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions…!!)
Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
Reboot.

PERFECT!!!!
Working perfectly-Full scan = over 600,000 files scanned.
Only little problem was after I was in safe mode and tried to run the avast clear program-Windows would lalow it to run.
Finally went into properties of the file and unclicked “UNBLOCK”
Uninstall went great and when I rebooted Avast installed easily.
Located my license file and it was accepted and loaded fine!!
