I have just bought Avast mobile security, including app lock.
I need the app lock in order to secure my gmail account.
But the problem seems that after I have set a pin code protection on the Gmail app, it
no longer gives me notifications …That is tell me when I have recieved a new mail…
Help woud be appreciated

That’s strange… Could you please provide more informations about your device? Which type, if you have any special ROM, root, etc.?
