No internet after Patch Tuesday May 16th

Hi,
I restarted my HP laptop after this patch Tuesday and couldn’t connect to the internet. IT happened to be in the office that day - he ran through the normal issues and couldn’t find a problem. The machine is connected to the internet, but pages will not load and time out.

Called my companies tech help line, went through 2 hours of diagnostics…it’s ‘pinging’ but no internet.

the only solution they said was to reinstall windows10. (insert long string of bad words here.)

A week later I re-start my other laptop. Guess what happens? Just guess…

Another 2 hours on the phone with tech help. This time I had access to another machine so he was able to download a program and use the internet to try and find the problem.
Nope.

After an hour of hunting - he tries uninstalling Avast. BOOM!!! That’s the problem!

A week later I hesitantly re-start the main desktop. Guess what happens? NO INTERNET!!!

Are you freaking kidding me?! 2 weeks later and there still isn’t a fix for this?

I had to uninstall Avast Premier from my 3rd pc in 2 weeks to be able to use the internet.

No information about the conflict sent out to us paying customers either.

SO FRUSTRATED WITH THIS!!!

Reset your network connection.
If that doesn’t solve it perform a clean installation of the latest avast version (or the latest beta).
