No Mail with XP and Avast

Problem:
XP; Avast 4.5.523 and Pocomail.
When I want receive or send Mail, nothing happens.
When i shut down the Process Internet Mail i Avast all Mail Traffic works perfectly.
It´s not a Problem of the Mail Programm, because a other Programm has the same problem!
Whats going wrong?
BTW: I have all the settings in the Mailer like this: pop.onlinehome.de and smtp.onlinehome.de

I experience the same problem with Pegasus Mail (if the mail is larger than 10kb nothing happens despite timeouts) see also thread Problem with Avast and PegasusMail.

No problems here with Outlook Express, MS Outlook, ThunderBird and Pegasus Mail. Maybe I’m lucky ;D
But I can assure you that will be a way to correct this in your computers.
We need more information to help.
Operational system, firewall, what happens if avast! scanning is disabled (into settings, not the provider), what happens if firewall is disabled… etc.

See also thread Avast and Pegasus Mail.

I gave OS information about my system there.

If I disable avant mailscanner everything works fine after reinitalizing it it hangs up again larger mail downloads. I experiment with the avast.ini in the data folder seems this is the key. There are some changes within which sometimes lead to peer error when changing to 127.0.01 I think a solution would be to have that ini and especially the settings under mailscanner before the update to 4.5 so can you publish a old setting table of this ini (perhaps of version 4.1 or 4.4?

Thnaks in advance

Please, don’t post the same in two different threads… Take us time

THX
I’ve sole the Problem
I have stop the Firewall; Start the Email Engine; Start the Firewall; Start the EMail Programm and then I go out out and the Firewall recognize it.
BTW Tje Firewall was Outpost 2.5

Sometimes I got the same with Outpost :stuck_out_tongue:
What do you call Email Engine? Is it the avast Internet Mail Provider?
I’ll try in one of my computers and hope your way helps too…

Oh sorry, i mean the Mail Engine from Avast (Internet Mail 4.5.523)
